Athena Charanne "Ash" Presto’s work focuses on political sociology, gender, and social policy. She has around a decade of sociological practice, including research, policy consultancy, and civil society engagement both in the Philippines and internationally. Prior to commencing her PhD studies at The Australian National University, Ash was a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Sociology, University of the Philippines Diliman, and taught feminist policy at Ateneo de Manila University’s Department of Political Science. She regularly provides commentary on contemporary social issues across traditional and new media platforms in the Philippines and abroad.
